The catholic church believes in praying to the blessed virgin Mary and also to saints, Is there a place in the Bible that states that this is acceptable?

Answer:

This does not come from the scriptures.

Jesus made it clear that He was the intercessor in Heaven and that prayers could go directly through Him. Why would we want to pray to Mary when we can go directly before the throne!

Hebrews 4:15-16  For we have not an high priest (Jesus Christ) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The only reason I have ever heard of the Catholic faith praying to Mary was because the first miracle Jesus did was at the request of His mother. Somehow they equate that going to Mary will get the Son to act. However, every other miracle was the result of other people coming directly to Jesus, not through His mother. In fact Jesus ignored Mary when she hindered Him from ministering to others…

Mark 3:31-35  There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
