Conviction – I don’t feel like the Holy Spirit convicts me of my sins.

Answer:
Well I guess I disagree with you since if there were not some conviction you would not have written this letter. People who have truly turned off the switch to the Holy spirit wouldn’t even be concerned about this.

Pray that your heart is sensitive. Often the Holy Spirit speaks in still small whispers. Just a little nudging.

Also, you must understand that no matter how long you are saved your flesh will always war against the spirit. I have been saved since I was 6 – and there are certain things that daily still tempt me if I am not careful. Someone hurt me really bad last year by some things they said and did. It hurt my family. When I think of this person or see them I want to say something hurtful back. I have prayed many times for God to take this away but like Paul it seems God is saying “my grace is sufficient”, you must learn to just deal with it.

Here are some scriptures to help you.

Paul wrote this many years after his conversion, so you see he still struggled at times. Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Paul also realized some things he was going to struggle with daily and never get over it so he had to humble himself everyday and seeks God’s help. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

You are doing ok…or you wouldn’t be writing!

God Bless You,
Pastor Brad
