I’m a Christian and I want to know how God and money relates. Is wrong to have money? If not what do you do to receive money from God?

Answer:

It is absolutely not wrong for Christians to have money, and I have never known anyone to pray for less money. Many people who are able to give great amounts have been able to bless others and help ministry go into new territories and regions.

The Bible does tell us that the LOVE of money is wrong: 1 Timothy 6:10  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

So, it’s alright to have money, or work hard to get it as long as the love for it does not go beyond your love for God or the love for others that you might want to use the money to help.

The surest way to get money is be a good steward with what you have, save and invest wisely, and honor God with the first 10% of all you receive. It doesn’t matter to God whether you make a million dollars or two dollars, He asks us if we will honor Him by giving the first 10% of it back to the local church or ministry of our choosing. By doing so it says, “I know that everything I get is from you God, and I want to give you praise and honor for these blessings!”

Malachi 3:10-11  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

Good question,
