What does the bible say about eating, over eating and under eating?

Answer:

I don’t believe the Bible really talks a lot about eating other than fasting, or in the case of Proverbs 23:21  For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. This isn’t talking about someone’s weight as much as just someone who is lazy.

It is true that food can be an addictive drug, and the Bible seems to reinforce that we should take a balanced approach to our habits so that we are not at one extreme or the other. To be addicted to anything (whether food, alcohol, pornography, etc) can preoccupy our time and get our focus from God.

What I do know is that the Bible does talk about what constitutes a beautiful woman in the eyes of God…

Proverbs 31:30 “Many women have done wonderful things, but you’ve outclassed them all!”

Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.    The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.

1 Peter 3 Cultivate Inner Beauty
3 What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition.

4-5 Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way.

I believe that’s what God would want you to know and focus on 🙂
