Answer:
I believe it is possible today since the Holy Spirit is present with us and is the one who convicts the world of sin and reveals Jesus Christ to our hearts. Without the working of the Holy Spirit no one would come to know Christ because He is the one who reveals Christ.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
I believe that is one of the reasons Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. If someone continually rejects the Spirit of God, and hardens their heart to all that the Spirit is speaking to them about, how then can someone be convicted of and be repentant of sin or receive Christ?
I have met a few unfortunate souls who once had a relationship or at least a knowledge of Christ and then hardened their heart to all things of God and cursed all things of God. I’m not talking about once…this person has been doing it for 20 years. They are so hard about all things that I sometimes wonder if they have crossed over the line.
Perhaps what Jesus was conveying to the Pharisees and the people of today is don’t harden your hearts to the point it is impossible to hear God whispering I love you or feel Him tugging at your heart. If this happens how can you ever come to know me?
Jesus warned the Pharisees because He loved even them and did not want to see them perish…2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
