Hebrews 2:7 I’m having a hard time understanding where man is–Jesus is crowned with glory and with honor, etc., but where are we–mortal man, in this?

Answer:
When Jesus came to earth he took a position as a full man, yet still fully God. As a man, Jesus was a little lower than the angels, just as we are now…

Hebrews 2:7-9 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

When Jesus submitted himself to death on the cross and then overcame the grave and death itself, He was exalted above all things, above all created beings, equal to God the Father and the Holy Spirit. He took His rightful place back beside the Father….

Hebrews 1:2-4 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

So right now we are a little lower than the angels, but when we obtain our inheritance we will be joint heirs with Christ and be called sons. While we will never be equal or have the attributes of God himself (Father, Son or Holy Spirit) we will actually be promoted above the angels. After all, Christ died for man, not for the angels. He did it all for us and we will share in this glory.

1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

And, it says in the Bible we will actually be giving our testimony to angels in Heaven because they want to know what it feels like to have sins washed away, and what it feels like to know Christ did that just for us…

1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. (Here, look into means they want to gain knowledge and understanding of this wonderful thing)

We are highly blessed and we have an inheritance like nothing else, even better than the angels.
