Jesus actually said the Greek word “teleo” when he was on the cross, and it literally means “It is finished”. However, the English translation does not do this word justice, because it means something really neat. It was a word that was used by artists who might be completing the “perfect picture” …it means everything I wanted to accomplish is done! When Jesus said “It is finished” He knew that with the last drop of blood shed He completed a masterpiece that would paint redemption for all of mankind, once and for all.
