Answer:
There are many nice little stories you might find online about why we should believe when we do not see God. One I remember was “We can’t see the wind, yet we know it exists because we can see the impact it has.” Try being in a hurricane and saying you don’t believe in wind because you can’t see it! So it is with God’s power. Jesus actually compares the Spirit of God with the wind…John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
We should also believe because we are MORE blessed than even the disciples who saw Jesus in order to believe.
John 20:27-29 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Lastly, it is impossible to please God without faith and believing…
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
